CHAMONIX to ZERMATT - Walkers' Route -
In association with McNab Mountain Sports, Chamonix
13 days - One of the world's great mountain walks - A great variety of stunning Alpine scenery - Good trails - Comfortable accommodation throughout (no camping)
Considered to be the "Walkers Haute Route," this superb multi-day trek takes a linear route across the spine of the European Alps and links together the famous mountaineering centres of Chamonix, Arola and Zermatt. Generally much lower than the Classic Haute Route, this is an ideal outing for those people who wish to experience the very best of the Alps without encountering any technically difficult walking. We cross from France into the beautiful Swiss canton of Valais, passing spectacularly beneath 10 of the 12 highest peaks in the Alps and traversing several high passes and 2 small glaciers. Lower down, the trek leads through verdant alpine valleys with cascading streams, pretty hamlets and flower-strewn meadows. Overnight accommodation is in a variety of small hotels, atmospheric gites and spectacularly located mountain refuges. Suitable for any regular hillwalker, this is a simply unforgettable alpine holiday.
Duration: 12 nights chalets, lodges & refuges, 10 days DEMANDING trekking, max. altitude - 3000m. All meals except lunches included.
