11 days - The definitive Alpine trek - A great range of stunning scenery - Superb overnight accommodation (no camping) - Vehicle support throughout - Experienced trip leader
The Tour du Mont Blanc is exactly that, a 9-day walking tour around the impressive peak of Mont Blanc (4807m.), Western Europe's highest summit. This justifiably popular trek starts out in the Chamonix Valley and crosses firstly into Italy and then into Switzerland, during the course of a complete and very spectacular circumnavigation of Mont Blanc and its satellite peaks. We follow picturesque valley trails and steep mountain paths, climbing to scenic and challenging alpine passes at almost 3000 metres elevation. We have put together this itinerary with the intention of providing the best possible views of the unique alpine landscapes, whilst also ensuring that we have access to a good standard of hotel accommodation for each of our overnight halts. Vehicle back-up is provided for all but one of the trekking days and this means that group members do not need to carry anything more than the bare essentials.
DURATION: 10 nights chalets, lodges & refuges, 9 days DEMANDING trekking, max. altitude - 2670m. All meals except lunches included.
