An Introduction to Europe

Over recent years, there has been a proliferation of low-cost travel deals to Europe and a marked upturn in the demand for more accessible adventure holidays. In France we have expanded upon the range of trekking and climbing options we first featured so successfully last summer. From the comfortable Mcnab Montain Sports chalet base in the Chamonix Valley, beneath dramatic rock spires and hanging glaciers, you can now choose a week of day walks or a classic extended trek, such as the Tour du Mont Blanc or the 13-day walkers route between Charmonix and Zermatt. For those with higher ambition, we have 8-day and 12-day versions of the Classic Haute Route and can also provide the opportunity to climb Mont Blanc, within just 8 days. Across the border in Switzerland, the picture-postcard alpine village of Saas Fee is the starting place for our stunning new Monte Rosa circuit trek and also for a new climbing expedition which aims to climb some of the region's challenging 4000 metre Peaks. Kath Murphy, who has led many of our trips worldwide, is coordinating the guiding work for our Alpine groups. We use professional UIAGM guides on any Alpine trip which has an element of mountaineering. On Corsica, you can now tackle the tough but rewarding coast to coast walk of the GR20, whilst in the Pyrenees there is an exciting new one week trek, linking France and Spain via the spectacular scenery of Gavarnie & Oerdessa. Further afield, you can join us in Turkey for an ascent of the newly accessible Mount Ararat, or take a fabulous island-hopping walking tour of the Azores.
