YELLOWSTONE and the GRAND TETONS -CONTACT US
16 days - Backpacking and exploring amongst North America's finest landscapes - A wilderness experience - Jackson Hole - Hot springs - Grizzly bear, wolf and bison
Rising abruptly above the surrounding plains, Wyoming's jagged, snow-covered Grand Tetons is one of the most awe-inspiring ranges in the Rocky Mountains. From the former fur-trading outpost of Jackson Hole, we set off on a 5-day backpacking excursion into the west side of the Tetons. Avoiding the main trails, we climb through rarely-visited canyons to make camp beside clear creeks and unnamed mountain lakes. Our route takes us across the spine of the range, in view of the breathtaking Grand Teton (13,770ft.) and the adjacent Cathedral Group. Before leaving this beautiful wilderness, we take the opportunity to ascend a straightforward 11,000 foot summit. After a night in Jackson Hole, we transfer to Yellowstone National Park and make the obligatory visit to the impressive geyser known as "Old Faithful." Here, our 4-day exploration will take us into the pristine backcountry of an area famous for its spectacular geothermal activity and abundance of wildlife.
