More about Wales
Wales has a distinctive culture including its own language, customs, holidays and music, there’s certainly lots of opportunity to find love in North Wales and you might even bump into Prince William and Kate Middleton who have chosen to reside in the Welsh countryside as husband and wife so the Prince can continue his work with the Royal Air Force.
North Wales is famous for its scenery. The landscapes are some of the best in the world, Woodland, parkland, grassland and fast-flowing rivers and miles of coastline, lending itself beautifully to romantic get-togethers.
Also famous also for its medieval castles, of which some are World Heritage sites. Harlech Castle teeters on the brink of the Irish Sea. Conwy Castle looms over one of the best medieval walled towns in Europe. There’s the world-famous castle at Caernarfon and Beaumaris castle even has a moat.
North Wales is bristling with wildlife. More than 200 species of bird regularly visit the RSPB Reserve at Conwy and it’s not unusual to spot the odd seal, porpoise or bottlenose dolphin around the coast either.
At 1085 metres Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales. If you love to walk, North Wales has hundreds of miles of trails, including one that stretches along the North Wales coast. The Great Orme Country Park has great trails and great wildlife – a first class spot for watching the sunset over the Irish Sea
An old folklore piece – the carved wooden spoons called ‘Love Spoons’, were carved by young men while they visited their sweethearts. The carving of these spoons apparently was encouraged by the young lady’s father as it ensured that the young mans hands were kept occupied! The spoons are beautifully carved and combine both ancient Celtic designs and symbols of affection, commitment and faith.
North Wales has is steeped in history and has a modern day vibrancy, and with so many romantic places to visit it is full of endless opportunities for dating.
